PSALM 100 A psalm of thanksgiving.
1 Shout with joy to the Lord, all the earth!
2 Worship the Lord with gladness.
Come before him, singing with joy.
3 Acknowledge that the Lord is God!
He made us, and we are his.
We are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving;
go into his courts with praise.
Give thanks to him and praise his name.
5 For the Lord is good.
His unfailing love continues forever,
and his faithfulness continues to each generation.
Psalm 100 is a short and powerful reminder for us that God created this earth and all that is in it including us. In a culture and time where we are driven by the day to day circumstances that we live in to be self-sufficient. That environment can make us very creative and adaptable, but it can move us away from a proper perspective that we are God’s creation. The psalmist reminds us that as His sheep we have an opportunity every day to enter God’s Love and Protection and give Him thanks for all He has blessed us with in our lives. It also confirms that not only is God good for us, He loves us forever and that Love is available for our children and their children over time from generation to generation. This is the great promise of God’s love from our creation through each day and into the future of our lives and our families forever.
